Medical caster maintenance tips

Central locking medical casters

The user is responsible for the proper maintenance and operation of wheeled equipment. To avoid improper use or overloading, place the heavy cargo on the vehicle carefully. High-speed driving on rough roads or heavy objects hitting the wheels can cause damage to the wheels or equipment. Therefore, please check regularly:

Brackets and fasteners: Tighten loose axles and nuts and check whether the welds or support plates are damaged. Overloading or impact can cause the bracket to twist. The twisted bracket allows the heavy load to pour on individual wheels and cause premature damage to the wheels. If it is a plug-in medical caster, tighten the nuts or rivet firmly and ensure that the equipment mounting bracket is not bent and the plug-in is installed correctly. When installing medical casters, use locking nuts or anti-loosening washers. When installing expansion plug-in medical casters, ensure that the plug-in is firmly installed in the sleeve.

Lubrication: Regularly add lubricating oil, and the wheels and movable bearings can be used for a long time. Applying grease to the friction parts of the axle, seal ring and roller bearing can reduce friction and make the rotation more flexible. Lubricate every six months under normal circumstances. Lubricate the wheels after washing the car every month.

Wheels: Visually inspect the wheels for wear. Poor wheel rotation is related to debris such as thongs, ropes, etc. Anti-winding covers can prevent these debris from entanglement. Too loose or too tight medical casters are another factor. Replace damaged wheels/medical casters to avoid unstable rotation. After checking and replacing wheels, make sure to tighten the axle with locking washers and nuts. Loose axles can cause the wheel spokes to rub against the bracket and get stuck. Replacement wheels and bearings should be available to avoid production losses.

Medical casters: If the active steering is too loose, it must be replaced immediately. If the center rivet of the medical caster is fixed with a nut, it must be locked firmly. If the active steering does not rotate freely, check the ball for corrosion or dirt. If a fixed medical caster is installed, make sure the medical caster bracket is not bent.
