The difference between heavy-duty swivel casters and fixed casters

Heavy duty caster bracket with balls

Caster is a general name that includes both movable and fixed casters. Movable casters also refer to the structure of swivel casters, which allow for 360-degree rotation. Fixed casters are also called directional casters, which do not rotate if they do not rotate.

The supports of heavy-duty casters are usually made of metal materials, including ordinary steel plate stamping, cast steel forming, die forged steel forming, etc., and are usually assembled using flat plates. The steel plate thickness of heavy-duty casters is usually 8mm, 10mm, 16mm, 20mm or more. Currently, Shangxin Caster is designing heavy-duty casters for the China Petroleum System to carry 12 tons, using 30mm thick steel plates and 40mm steel plates, which effectively ensures the safety of the product. Heavy-duty casters usually use double-layer steel ball tracks, stamped and heat treated.

For special rotating plate swivel casters, plane ball bearings with larger force or flat needle bearings are generally used to support tapered bearings, which can effectively improve the load-bearing capacity of heavy-duty casters. Special impact-resistant heavy-duty caster, the turntable is made of mold steel and precision machining, which effectively avoids the welding of connecting plate bolts and improves the impact resistance of the caster.
