CP329KVF-M12.70-48 – A Leveling Foot That Actually Does What It Says
We don't write a lot of marketing copy. Most of our customers find us through word of mouth, or because someone else in their industry told them to give us a call. But every once in a while, we sit down and write out what we actually do differently. This is one of those times.
What's Wrong With Most Leveling Feet
If you've been in furniture manufacturing or distribution for more than a few years, you've probably seen the pattern.
A customer orders a container of leveling feet. They look fine. The price is right. Six months later, complaints start coming in. Rust on the stems. Cracks in the bases. Furniture that was level at installation now leaning to one side. Or worse-a shipment arrives and half the feet are scratched because they rubbed against each other in the box.
None of these problems are dramatic on their own. But they add up. Returns. Customer service time. Lost trust.
We've seen it so many times that we started designing feet specifically to avoid these exact issues.
The Stem: Where Most Feet Rust First
Most manufacturers use Q235 steel with a thin zinc coating-often 3 to 5 microns. It passes a quick visual check. But put it in a humid environment for a few months, and rust starts forming at the threads.
Our stem uses the same Q235 steel, but with 8 to 12 microns of zinc plating. We test every batch in a salt spray chamber. 24 to 48 hours with no white rust. That's not industrial-grade protection, but it's enough for kitchens, basements, and coastal homes-the places where cheap feet fail.
The top is designed with both a cross recess (Phillips) and a hex. You can drive it with a screwdriver or a wrench. Either works. The choice is yours.
The Base: Plastic That Doesn't Crack
Standard polypropylene is fine for indoor use in stable temperatures. But it cracks when something heavy drops on it. It gets brittle in the cold.
We use virgin PP as the base material, and we offer an option with 30% glass fiber for customers who need extra impact resistance. With glass fiber, the base is about three times tougher than standard plastic.
We've tested it at -30°C overnight. Pulled it out, dropped it from counter height, hit it with a hammer. No cracks. If your furniture ships to cold climates or sits in an unheated warehouse during winter, this matters.
The base has a directional screw knob that locks onto the chassis. You can spin it to level the furniture, and once it's set, it stays where you put it. There's also a cross recess on the bottom-so you can adjust height even after the furniture is fully installed, without lifting or tilting.
Load Capacity: No Slow Sink
We rate this foot at 100 kg static load per unit. Four of them will hold 400 kg without sagging.
But here's the difference: we don't just claim the number. Every production batch is sampled and tested at 150 kg for 48 hours. We measure deformation. It stays under 0.1 mm.
That means no slow sink. No leaning cabinets six months after installation. No calls from customers wondering why their furniture is suddenly off-level.
Threads: Fine Pitch, Fewer Problems
Most leveling feet use coarse threads. They adjust quickly, but they're harder to fine-tune and they tend to loosen under vibration.
We use fine pitch threads. Each turn gives you a smaller height adjustment-so you can actually dial it in without overshooting. And fine threads hold position better. Furniture that gets moved around or equipment that vibrates stays level longer.
Packaging: What Arrives Matters
We've seen containers full of perfectly good feet arrive with scratched surfaces because they were packed loose and rubbed against each other during shipping.
We pack each foot in an individual PE bag. Cartons are divided so stems don't contact bases. It adds a few cents to the cost, but it means your customers open a box of clean, unmarked product.
If you want your own branding on the feet, we laser mark them. Logo, model number, specs-whatever helps your customers identify the right replacement later. We've had distributors tell us this alone cut their returns by about 30 percent.
