TPR and polyurethane casters have similar hardness and higher mechanical strength to ordinary thermoplastics, and can be produced by plastic processing. At the same time, TPU polyurethane material has the elongation, resilience and mechanical deformation recovery performance of ordinary elastomers. TPR has high tensile strength and elongation at break, especially excellent tensile strength. Tear resistance, flexibility and wear resistance, can be formulated in various wear-resistant and shock absorber parts used in many fields such as automobiles, shoemaking, electrical appliances, and sports.
1. Mechanical properties: The material is suitable for long-term work in harsh environments and has excellent wear resistance.
2. Heat resistance: The heat resistance of the material is not outstanding, and it is only allowed to be exposed to the working environment below 80°C for a long time. Soft and medium hardness TPU can be exposed to the environment of 100°C for a short time. TPU with high hardness grade can work at 120°C for a short time. TPU has excellent low temperature performance, high impact strength, and the material will not break below 20°C.
3. Chemical properties: Since it is mainly composed of straight-chain chemical bonds, it has poor resistance to external media erosion, so it has poor resistance to chemical substances such as acids and alkalis, and vehicle oil containing ethanol has greater swelling properties. However, pure mineral oil and ester media have better resistance.
4. Weather resistance: general TPU has good weather resistance. Although there will be slight yellowing under long-term ultraviolet radiation, the performance of the material will not be greatly affected. TPU products commonly used outdoors are equipped with ultraviolet absorbers, and sometimes carbon black pigments can be added when conditions permit, so that the material can effectively absorb ultraviolet rays or shield ultraviolet rays, and improve the service life of the material. The disadvantage of these products is that the oil resistance, heat resistance and mechanical properties are not as good as CPU materials.
