Manufacturers recommend this maintenance of casters to extend their life

Pu tread on aluminum wheels

The casters may be inflexible, debonded, bearing damaged, bracket deformed, and steel balls fall off. Regular maintenance of the casters can not only keep the casters flexible, but also extend the life of the casters. Generally, caster manufacturers recommend this kind of maintenance to extend the life?

High-speed driving on rough roads, heavy object collisions, etc. will cause damage to the wheels or other accessories. The looseness of the shaft will cause friction between the casters and the brackets. Therefore, regular inspections should be carried out to tighten the loose axles and nuts, and check whether the welds or support plates are damaged.

If it is a plug-in caster, tighten the nuts or rivets, and ensure that the mounting bracket is not bent, the insertion rod is installed correctly, and the locking nuts or anti-loosening washers should be used when assembling the casters.

Overloading or impact will cause the bracket to deform, and the deformed bracket will cause the heavy load to tilt and press on individual wheels, resulting in premature damage to the wheels. Try to avoid overloading the caster and ensure that it is used within the range of use.

Caster manufacturers recommend that you use lubricating oil regularly and apply grease to the friction parts of the ball and shaft seal to reduce friction and make the rotation more flexible. Lubrication maintenance should be performed every six months.

In dirty and messy places, dust, paper scraps, hair, thread ends, etc. may enter the bearing part and cause damage to the caster. Try to choose casters with dust cover design. Caster manufacturers have many types of products.
