At present, domestic caster products are complex and varied. When choosing heavy-duty casters, you should pay special attention to it, because heavy-duty casters are generally objects with relatively large loads, so the choice of casters is particularly important; in order to avoid additional property losses to the goods due to the casters themselves, it is important to choose a good heavy-duty caster product, and this depends more on a caster manufacturer with strict quality control.
So what is a heavy-duty caster? Heavy-duty casters refer to casters with relatively large load capacity. According to the load-bearing capacity of the casters, they are classified relative to light casters, medium casters, etc. There is no clear boundary. Generally, high-load casters are called heavy-duty casters.
Heavy-duty casters are used for the movement of heavy equipment, so the wheels of heavy-duty casters generally use hard tread single wheels. Such as nylon wheels, cast iron wheels, forged steel wheels, rubber wheels, and polyurethane wheels are ideal choices. Regular heavy-duty caster manufacturers can generally provide drawings and other related technical parameters, as well as professional testing equipment, including caster walking tests, load tests and other professional caster testing equipment. Otherwise, the load requirements of the casters cannot be judged.
Below, the heavy-duty caster manufacturer will introduce to you how to check whether the caster is still usable.
1. Detect the visible wear of the tire surface: The "flat point" on the tire surface may indicate the accumulation of foreign matter, such as wire ends and other debris that may be entangled with the wheel. Remove the bolts and nuts on the wheel and clean up the debris. Check whether the wheel bearing is damaged. If the parts are not damaged, they can be reassembled and continued to be used. If the wheel is often entangled with debris, it is recommended to install an anti-entanglement cover to avoid it.
2. Loose casters or stuck wheels can also cause "flat points". Proper maintenance and inspection, especially checking the tightness of the bolts, the amount of lubricating oil, and replacing damaged casters can enhance the rolling performance and rotation flexibility of the equipment.
3. Severe damage or looseness of rubber tires may lead to rolling instability, air leakage, abnormal load, and damage to the base plate, etc. Timely replacement of damaged tires and bearings can reduce the cost loss caused by downtime due to caster damage.
4. After checking and repairing the wheel, make sure the bolts and nuts are tightened. Use anti-loosening washers or anti-loosening nuts on all bolts as much as possible. If the bolts are loose, tighten them immediately. If the wheel installed in the bracket is loose, it will cause the wheel to be damaged or unable to rotate.
