Introducing seven different caster combinations

Medium duty SS304 casters for carts

Hey, so when it comes to setting up casters, there's more to it than you might think. You can't just slap on four wheels and expect it to work smoothly. We've worked with a bunch of caster manufacturers and factories, and we often chat with exporters and local distributors to see how things actually perform for customers. Some setups-you really gotta try them out to know what works.

1. Three swivel casters
Some exporters who specialize in lab equipment prefer this setup. For smaller devices, like mobile experiment carts they ship to schools overseas, three swivel casters make things really nimble-easy to turn around in hallways.

2. Two rigid, one swivel
This is a budget-friendly option that a lot of domestic caster distributors recommend to cost-conscious customers. One client that makes storage cages, their distributor specifically asks for this setup. Works fine for moving lighter loads short distances.

3. The classic: two rigid in front, two swivel in back
This one's super common, basically the standard recommendation from many caster factories. One of our customers who builds industrial cleaning equipment has heavier machines, and their European importer insists on this setup-stable, easy to push, and durable.

4. Four rigid casters in a diamond layout
Only for heavy loads moving in a straight line. One of the heavy-duty caster manufacturers we partner with uses this on large rail carts for a steel plant client. It's all about stability-turning isn't even in the equation.

5. Brake setup: swivel casters with brakes in back, rigid in front
Necessary for slopes or anywhere you need to lock the position. A medical cart manufacturer told us their regional distributor got feedback that hospital nurses love this design-easy to push medicine carts up and down ramps, and they can lock them in place anytime for safety.

6. Four swivel casters
Great for moving heavy equipment around workshops. A machine tool supplier mentioned they use this on tool tables for customer maintenance workshops. When space is tight and you need to shift something sideways, the workers can handle it themselves.

7. Six-wheel combo: four swivel + two rigid
Used for extra-long platforms or when the load is especially heavy. An engineering company that builds large test benches came to us through their project contractor and requested this setup-spreads out the weight and still offers some maneuverability.

Honestly, which one to pick depends on your equipment, the floor, and how you'll be moving it. As a manufacturer, we often talk through these details with distributors and exporters everywhere. If you're not sure, just tell us your situation-we can figure out a solid setup together. Keep it practical, no fluff.
