The wear resistance of TPE caster material is better than that of TPU because it has good skid resistance. But with the increase of TPE caster material bearing requirements, proper amount of lubricant should be added to TPE caster material in order to improve the surface finish of TPE caster material, reduce its surface friction coefficient, thus reduce friction heat gain and increase its wear resistance and friction loss. 1. Carrying capacity
Generally speaking, the bearing capacity of TPE caster material is not very high. At present, the maximum bearing capacity of TPE caster material in domestic market is 300kg. Because the TPE material itself is soft but not hard, it is formed by bonding with the skeleton. In the process of load movement, a large amount of heat will be generated, which will accelerate the deformation of materials and lead to the shedding or fracture of the caster skeleton and rubber. 2. Different skeletons have different selection methods
The skeleton of continuous casters generally includes polypropylene, reinforced polypropylene, nylon, etc. Polypropylene is generally used as the skeleton of continuous casting machine with low bearing capacity. Some low-end materials even use recycled polypropylene as skeleton. This kind of skeleton is brittle, and other materials are mixed or degraded, so the bonding performance of TPE caster material is very high. If glass fiber is used to reinforce polypropylene, it is usually reinforced by adding glass fiber, so the adhesive performance of the material is required to be higher. Homopolymer TPE castor is usually used as common PP raw material.
3. Wear resistance
Ordinary TPE caster material has good anti-skid performance, and its wear resistance is better than other materials. However, with the increase of load-bearing requirements, TPE medical caster materials will be added with a proper amount of sliding agent to improve surface smoothness, reduce surface friction coefficient, thus reducing friction heat and increasing friction loss.
