There are three conventional methods for surface treatment of aluminum profiles: electrophoresis, spraying and fluorocarbon
(1) Electrophoresis:
Electrophoresis is the electrodeposition coating in the anode and cathode, applied to the voltage, the charged coating ions move to the cathode, and with the cathode surface generated by the alkaline reaction to form insoluble matter, deposited on the surface of the workpiece.
The advantages and disadvantages of electrophoretic surface treatment process are as follows
Electrophoretic paint film has the advantages of fullness, uniformity, flatness and smoothness. The hardness, adhesion, corrosion resistance, impact performance and permeability of electrophoretic paint film are obviously superior to other coating processes.
Its biggest defect is that the color of electrophoresis is relatively single, only a few colors (silver, champagne, gold, black, imitation stainless steel color). Secondly, electrophoretic color is easy to produce color difference.
The following is about electrostatic powder spraying
(2) Powder spraying:
The powder coating is sprayed on the surface of the workpiece by electrostatic spraying equipment. Under the action of electrostatic, the powder will be evenly adsorbed on the surface of the workpiece to form a powder coating. The powder coating is baked at high temperature, leveled and solidified, and becomes the final coating with different effects. The spraying effect is superior to the painting process in mechanical strength, adhesion, corrosion resistance and aging resistance.
Advantages and disadvantages of electrostatic powder spraying
The advantages of powder coating are as follows:
(1) High efficiency and energy saving: due to the one-time film forming, the productivity can be increased by 30-40%, and the energy consumption can be reduced by about 30%
(2) Less pollution: no organic solvent volatilization (excluding toluene, xylene and other harmful gases in paint)
(3) The film has good performance: the one-time film thickness can reach 50-80 μ m, and its adhesion, corrosion resistance and other comprehensive indicators are excellent.
(4) Various colors, according to customer requirements to make a variety of colors, and produce color difference
